Meet the Team

Jade Mcintosh

Jade opened her first florist shop in Newcastle over seventeen years ago, before moving out of retail to focus solely on weddings in 2006. Her drive and passion have kept the business growing even through tough times, and it’s her creativity, enthusiasm for new ideas and techniques and love of fresh, seasonal flowers that have made Jade Mcintosh Flowers into one of the region’s most sought-after wedding florists. She’s a chai-a-holic and as well as flowers, she loves cake, dogs, changing her house around… and more flowers!

Bec’s five-year floristry career began after her own wedding – she was a Jade Mcintosh Bride! Before discovering her passion for flowers, Bec worked in marketing and event management, so she’s got a great eye for detail and knows all about tight deadlines and making the impossible possible. Having been both a client and venue manager in the past, she’s got a unique and invaluable perspective on the process of planning a wedding. She’s also a brilliant mum to two beautiful baby (or not-so-baby) boys, with a love for travel – she’s visited every continent but Antarctica – everything vintage, and – of course – cake (…there may be a theme here).

Bernie is a fully-qualified florist who has been at Jade McIntosh Flowers for over a year. She is currently on maternity leave after having her second baby (who is, unsurprisingly, gorgeous). Bernie likes poring over interior design magazines, pizza and the haloumi toastie from Ground Up Espresso here in Carrington.

Senior Florist

Claire is the newest member of the JMF team. She has over seven years floristry experience, and a background in visual merchandising and styling – so you know she’s got her eye on every detail of your wedding flowers! Claire has recently moved to Australia from the UK. She loves chocolate, anything antique or vintage, and spending time with her (very, very adorable) dog Molly.

Admin/Social Media

Laura heads our admin and social media team. With a background in industrial design as well as extensive customer service experience, she’s a superstar when it comes to logistics. She’s our go-to for a schedule, a spreadsheet… and a good pun. Laura loves camping, cheese – she could survive solely on grazing platters – and, of course, cake. Her biggest secret? She’s got a bit of a black thumb – she might work for a florist, but at home she can’t even keep a succulent alive. Shhhh…

Admin/Social Media

Ewa is the other half of our busy admin and social media team, and a wizard with spreadsheets. She comes from a media production background so has plenty of experience working with tight deadlines and juggling the needs of clients, suppliers and vendors, and making sure everyone comes away happy. She is also a pop-culture and fiction writer who has won awards for her short stories and has recently finished her first novel.

Jenny is our bookkeeper, looking after everything money-related. As a Jade Mcintosh Bride, she’ll keep you updated on payments due and received. Jenny lives deep in the Valley so we don’t see her around the warehouse as much as we’d like to but she’s actually the most senior member of our team – she’s been with JMF since the very beginning!
